The Cosmetic Chemistry Club was founded in 2022 by a group of students who wanted to create a space where all students could come together to become more intelligent consumers about the products they enjoy. Come visit us and learn about active ingredients, roles and jobs in the industry, and even make your own products. Open to all majors and scientific backgrounds.
Sophia Nelson
President
Sophia is a Molecular and Cell Biology major with an interest in cosmetics. Ever since middle school, Sophia has been fascinated with the inner workings of everyday products. Having had severe acne since 13 years old, Sophia has had to know more about active ingredients than most. As more and more people realized just how important it is to know what's in your products, she decided to start a group that opens discussion to what's really in your cosmetics.

Shruti is a junior majoring in chemical engineering. Shruti plays the flute in the university band and likes doing puzzles. Shruti got interested in cosmetics because of course material about the prevalence of chemistry in everyday products and her sister who loves to know more about the chem behind cosmetics.

Justice is a Molecular and cellular biology major with a minor in french. Justice loves to read, travel, and occasionally play tennis. Justice has always been interested in cosmetics, beauty, and skincare and loves to learn the chemistry of products and what specific ingredients are actually best for different skin types.
Hiya Mehta

Hiya is a junior majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Hiya enjoys watching sports, documentaries, movies, reading, and cooking. Hiya got interested in cosmetic chemistry because as a teenager, she was fascinated by new makeup products on the market and application techniques. This interest guided her toward developing a skin routine that worked for her skin and made her cognizant of the products she was applying leading her to cosmetic chemistry.

Aileen is a senior studying chemical and biomolecular Engineering. Aileen got interested in CCC because of her future goal to be the founder of her own cosmetics line that is sustainable, innovative, versatile, and cruelty-free in the beauty industry.
